Doggy Boot Camp - 25th July – 31st July

By Dima - Posted on 03 July 2010

Attention! Good Boys are going Camping – and you all are invited!

The dates for this year’s residential training course are – 25th July to 31 July 2010.

Sorry for delay in letting you all know about the trip, but we wanted to make sure that all the preparation and bookings are done in time, and we still have plenty of time to get ready! So look into Handfeeding basics if you are a first-timer, and if you are one of our regulars – you know how it works – after all, we have been organising these Camps for 10 years in the UK! So it is a kind of a jubilee for us – I will make sure we have a celebration package prepared for you at the Camp!

So – booking – as before, forms are available from us, via email or in person, Prices – unfortunately we had to slightly adapt to the site rentals, and they are offering less and charging more. So this year’s trip will cost you still a very reasonable figure - £280 for the whole week, including your breakfast, hot and cold drinks, 2 BBQs and all the trips, tuition and support, or £55 if you decide to come for a few days – you will love it however big Camping enthusiast you are! We’ll brief you on what to bring / not to bring to help you have the best time you can imagine, and learn a lot! You know that I discovered a different dog in my ex-rescue hound George when on a Camping trip – we came back best friends! And he’s such a fantastic pet these days – he’s going to be one of our trainers this year!

OK, practicalities – we are camping in Capstone Farm Park, Nr. Gillingham, Kent, ME7 3JG

Your accommodation options are: bring your caravan / motor home / camper free of charge, cars are allowed on site, tents – your choice, but we have a few that you can hire, and finally – local B&B is just across the road (well, after a couple of miles of walk through the woods), but this one does not take dogs. We can look after them on-site for you, but I promise that you won’t want to miss out on all the activities at night at the Camp – so search around for comfort, or start packing your tent!

Food – All arranged 3 times a day – mornings – on-site, lunches – next to the activity planned, evening – BBQ on-site, or in local place of interest. Please note that all our partners are dog loving people, and all places we visit are dog-friendly!

Facilities – the site has hot and cold water showers and toilets within easy reach, big bon-fire space, café on-site and restaurant nearby that we’ll visit, dry Skiing slop (just in case you don’t have enough to do training your dog!?), secluded and very quite field, with tables for your use, marquee to keep us all dry and chilled in case of un-easy weather, gas cooker and Stove for you to use if you want your coffee in anti-social hours (we advise to bring a thermos) and everything else you need to spend a week without any worry. Supermarkets are just about 20 mins drive away, but this is for a tender souls – for the rest – how hard it could be sleeping on a double inflatable bed in a tent big enough to park a car or two with electrics and music whenever you want it, and eat at regular intervals without having to cook or move… Doesn’t sound tough enough, does it?

And now – the programme. We’ll update you here as we receive further confirmations, but we are going to Horse-ride, Clay pigeon shoot, Swim in a sea, Walk though beautiful countryside, Treasure hunt, Take part in Obedience, Nose work, Heelwork-to-Music, Agility and fly-ball events and competitions, brush up our brains in dog training challenges and quizzes, do sport, and many more, watch this space!

Please register your interest, or consider booking – as every time, for all early bookings there’s a pleasant gift to make your stay with us even more luxurious!

Doggy boot camp has been booked and is in planning to be even better than last year, with the bookings coming in already! We have five trainers joining in the project with the heelwork-to-music still to be confirmed. The dates are Sunday 25th July – Saturday 31st July. Come for a day or two, or stay the whole week, you will love every second of it! For the party animals, you are welcome to join us from the 24th July as this will be our pre-camp warming up! So far we can confirm that Good Citizen Dog Scheme testing will be going ahead on Wednesday 28th July, obedience by UK top trainer Dorothy Cullum on Thursday 29th July, as well as agility sessions throughout the camp for the whole week, sea side walk and swim, clay pigeon shooting and horse riding, to mention a few! Hand feeding is going to be our main attraction as it has always been but you will see it at an angle that you have never seen before! Many old faces, quite a few new bookings and we are all very excited what the week will hold!

Prices are held low at £280 for the whole week, including your breakfast, hot and cold drinks, 2 BBQs and all the trips, tuition and support, or £55 per day if you decide to come on a daily basis.

Bonfire nightlife will add to the enjoyment of the week and comes completely free of charge!! Dima has promised not to include any exploding garbage as last year!!
