"Story of my life"
This is a “must read” from an “average” dog…

Self-study
For more information on the myths of dominance in wolf behaviour and how it relates to dogs see the following link:
http://www.avsabonline.org/
And here:
http://www.4pawsu.com/
If you work with dogs or want to be good working for your dog, you have to read it!
See where you stand on this one, and, I hope, say NO! to punitive training, “dog whispering” and outdated behaviour therapy:
http://www.gopetition.co.uk/
and this:
http://www.coape.org/awsn.html
When many of you are so looking forward to the Dog Whisperer’s appearance at Wembley next week for some unknown to us reason, we have a word of warning for you that relies on the information given by the Association of Pet Behavioural Counsellors and law introduced to this country regarding the use of this device. In many parts the information given relates to the use of other if not all of punitive training (or rather abusive) methods:
http://www.apbc.org.uk/sites/
All the above is not training. But this is: to prove the point, see this fun dog training video where the dog actually wants to be trained and enjoys the process:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?
(I just can not concentrate on the dog because of the PJs featured…)
It speaks for itself.
Education
No-one in the field knows how it’s done until they have seen the real Horse Whisperer – this is what makes good trainers!
Do not miss this event – and if you’re going – let us organise the trip for you!
MONTY ROBERTS WILLING PARTNERS TOUR CONTINUES IN 2010!
The Willing Partners tour with its emphasis on 'Lightness and Motivation' was just too good to finish so Monty and Kelly are back on the road again - going to places we couldn't reach before! With Monty riding Western and English as well as working with 'horses with problems on the ground' these will be events you'll never forget. And it is your last chance to do so this year:
5th March Friday - The College EC, Keysoe, Bedfordshire
To book direct please contact the office on 01488 71300 or email ih.office@virgin.net
Something I didn’t know about until recently, certainly worth investigating:
UK Wolf Conservation Trust, Reading, Berkshire. http://www.ukwolf.org
“Thought you might be interested in the event they are running 21st March. This promises to be a very informative day and extremely enjoyable. Definitely something all dog lovers should experience, learn to understand your dog and where he's coming from.” (from our partners)
And it is almost next door to us, living in London.
Homeopathy:
You may have heard on the news that the government is considering
removing the choice of homoeopathic treatment as part of the NHS services.
They say they can save 4 million by removing it and one of their arguments
is that there is no proof it works. However our experience shows that is
does, especially where our animals are concerned who cannot be said to be
exhibiting the placebo effect when they become better. There is plenty of
real scientific evidence if they held a proper enquiry.
There’s a lot of info available for both supporters and none, and not going into all the politics of the issue, I will refer you to the websites where you can see it all for yourself:

A large pup in need of home
A large pup in need of home:
His is Fred; he is a 6 and 1/2 month old Rottie cross. Photo available on request as we do not like clogging up your mailboxes.
He is house trained. He is inoculated. He is very sociable and obedient. He gets on with all other dogs..
He is a lot of fun to be with...
In fact he's perfect...
He is looking for a new owner;
His new owner must be someone with a garden who can continue giving him the love and training that he is responding to so very well.
If you can offer Fred a new home please contact: pam.holmes@archant.co.uk or phone 020 7433 6201

Urgent appeal
Urgent appeal:
One of our star pupils is in trouble – due to circumstances the family are unable to keep him. Over the past two years Tai was a demo dog at many of my private classes, and regular walking companion to our Canine Commune. And now he’s to be given up!
This is what the owners asked us to post:
“Tai is a labrador and staff cross (black in colour). He is neutured and has a very friendly temprement. He can do lots of tricks and loves to be challenged. He is sociable with cats, children and other dogs and loves food. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my control I am looking for a new home for Tai. If anyone is interested, please contact Deniece on 07909904729”
Tai will probably stay with Dima for the time being, as seing him going back to kennels after about 3 years in a home would break his (and mine) heart! So PLEASE – consider giving Tai a home he deserves. I will help you with free classes and advise if needed as he’s nearly a family for us all…
